Our Daily Emotional Oasis

The beginning of our day determines its course. It is an unchangeable ritual throughout the years: opening the window for a breath of fresh air, enjoying a warm cup of coffee, surrendering to the calm of the morning breeze, forgetting yourself, daydreaming, contemplating. Setting our mood, tuning our mind, and listening to our heart is the magical feeling that will settle within us and guide us through the day. This morning ritual creates a refreshing atmosphere in a world that awaits and "thirsts" for our effort and contribution.

However, what truly makes each day special is our emotional and mental state. How it differentiates, changes, and is shaped depends on the means, as we mentioned above, for example. While people and our environment are undoubtedly important factors in shaping our daily lives, it is nevertheless an unparalleled experience that makes it truly unforgettable. It is a unique heartbeat, an "essence" we see in things, something captivating; it is a different kind of air we seek every so often.

The source of this experience might be a stimulus, an occasion, or even an image or some musical sound. People often become passionate about various sources of this so-called "essence," whether it is material or intangible. And detoxing from these is a timely and important issue today. Someone relaxing on a beach, for instance, receiving hundreds of visual, auditory, and sensory messages, will become more tired than if they were working at their job.

Today, in the age of uncontrolled information and instant rewards, the search for "difficult dopamine" is a real achievement. This "difficult dopamine" is not the easy euphoria offered by the endless messages and notifications on our screens, but the deep satisfaction that comes from achieving goals with effort and patience. For example, instead of trying to distract oneself from excessive euphoria, one should try to achieve one or two goals and patiently await them; this will constitute true happiness, joy, and quality of life.

Music will remain there—an integral part of every day (and night)—it will continue to travel and beautify our lives. Let us, therefore, surrender to this "horizon" of everyday life, awaiting dusk and enjoying the rhythm of every moment. Because the true art of life is deciding what to leave behind and what to keep, and consciously choosing the stimuli that lead us to an "oasis". And amidst all this, melodies, like companionship, will remain an integral part of it, continuing to transport us and beautify it, an eternal rhythm in our personal oasis
